Role

Are you passionate about developing ML models for real world robotic applications? At Intrinsic, we deploy and run heavy ML perception models on prem to enable flexible industrial applications. Accelerated inference is a key for meeting industrial requirements in terms of cycle time. We are looking for highly talented and motivated interns with a strong background in machine learning and computer vision to contribute to the exploration and benchmarking of edge accelerators to unlock higher cycle time in robotics applications.

You will work closely with our ML infrastructure team to evaluate state of the art ML architectures and integrate the ML inference models into the firmware. Part of your responsibilities will be optimizing and productizing edge ML models to support robotics automation solutions. Your job will require understanding the challenges in productizing computer vision models in edge computing starting with datasets, model conversions to run on edge, and integration of the models and deployment to production. 

How your work moves the mission forward

  • Together with perception, ML and infrastructure engineers, contribute to the integration of edge devices in containerized environments
  • Explore and implement solutions to run ML inference workloads on various edge accelerators
  • Design experimental setups and run extensive benchmarks to evaluate ML inference performances of heavy perception models on edge accelerators
  • Design and optimize AI/ML models for deployment on resource-constrained embedded platforms, considering factors such as memory, processing power, and energy efficiency

Skills you will need to be successful

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor/Masters/PhD program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Extensive programming experience in Python, and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow/Jax/Pytorch.
  • Experience in developing and deploying ML for real world applications on edge devices.
  • Experience in statistical data analysis
