International Tax Manager - Asset Management

We’re recruiting for an International Tax Manager, Asset Management  working within Group Tax to support the Head of International Tax & Transfer Pricing and the Head of Asset Management Tax. Primary responsibilities include managing international tax compliance and advisory workstreams across our Asset Management divisions, as well as ownership of key initiatives.  

    What you'll be doing:

    • Providing international tax advisory to the Asset Management division, including supporting on international M&A. 
    • Building relationships with key contacts in the Asset Management division to ensure Group Tax are embedded appropriately into commercial activity. 
    • Owning non-UK tax compliance and reporting across the Asset Management division. This includes ownership of the delivery of overseas tax compliance under an outsourcing arrangement, and providing support to local and group finance teams on tax provisioning for local and group financial reporting.  
    • Providing tax technical support on the delivery of Pillar 2 as it relates to the Asset Management division. 
    • Monitoring governance with operating guidelines within the Asset Management division. Escalating identified governance breaches and risks. Identify opportunities for governance improvements. 
    • Collaborating with other members of the Group Tax team to ensure appropriate subject matter expertise is obtained as required. Liaising with VAT and Employment tax specialists to ensure international tax team knowledge of global indirect tax obligations and global mobility is maintained. 
    • Supporting the Head of International Tax & Transfer Pricing on overseas tax disputes. 
    • Supporting on other international tax initiatives as required, including Transfer Pricing across the Asset Management division and between Asset Management and other L&G divisions.  
    • Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with our Treating Customers Fairly accountability. 

     

    Who we're looking for:

    • Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g. ACA or ACCA) and/or Taxation qualification (e.g. CTA) with some post qualification tax experience within a large corporate or practice  
    • Knowledge of UK Taxes Acts, as they apply to UK and International Taxes including corporation tax, VAT, transfer pricing and stamp duty to the extent that they apply to the companies in the group for which tax responsibility held. 
    • Knowledge of the tax aspects of UK GAAP and IFRS. 
    • Develops understanding of the key concepts which drive regulation within our markets. 
    • Prioritisation, planning and organisation of multi task/person assignments. 
    • Ability to make judgement calls where appropriate without referral to senior manager 
    • Builds and develops strong relationships with staff, peers and other contacts within the business. 
    • Experience of providing tax advice and be able to explain tax technical issues in a clear and concise way to non-tax experts. 
    • Prepared to listen to others and work to understand their viewpoint. 
    • Ability to create and deliver clear and concise written or verbal reports.
