Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated International Sourcing Specialist with proficiency in Mandarin Chinese with focus on purchasing physical hardware goods mainly from USA and Chinese based suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers in the US and China to meet our company’s strategic sourcing needs. This role involves extensive supplier negotiations, contract management, and ensuring compliance with global sourcing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers in China.
    • Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and capacity.
  • Supplier Development and Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Monitor supplier performance and manage any necessary improvements.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management:
    • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
    • Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Order Management:
    • Place orders with suppliers and monitor the order process to ensure timely delivery.
    • Coordinate with logistics to manage shipping schedules and customs clearance.
  • Customer Invoicing:
    • Work with Logistics and Accounting on customer invoicing and order tracking and after order processing.
  • Cost Analysis and Budget Management:
    • Perform cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
    • Manage sourcing budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure suppliers meet required standards.
    • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing from China.
    • Develop contingency plans to manage supply chain disruptions.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Prepare regular reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and market trends.
    • Use data analytics to drive sourcing decisions and improve efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product development, manufacturing, logistics, and finance teams to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
    • Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in international sourcing, with a focus on China.
    • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost reduction.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong ethical approach when handling sourcing with different suppliers.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with international trade regulations and compliance standards.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sourcing software/tools.
  • Other:
    • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
    • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
