ROLE
We are looking for an experienced International Tax Associate to manage and oversee tax compliance and planning activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax accounting and international tax laws and regulations and will work closely with the global tax team to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related items in financial statements
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax-related documents
- Prepare detailed tax reports and schedules for internal and external audits – previous experience with SOX is a plus
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements by providing relevant tax information
- Prepare and review corporate income tax returns for various countries within the Group – experience in UK taxes is a plus
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and related compliance documentation
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary
- Ensure compliance with withholding taxes obligations on cross-border operations
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
- Prepare and provide necessary documentation and responses to tax authorities
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Degree or Specialisation in Taxation or a related field is a plus
- 4-6 years of experience in tax, preferably with a focus on international tax and previous experience with UK and US taxes
- Experience with multinational companies or Big4 is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations with previous experience in UK taxes
- Proficiency in tax compliance and accounting software (Dynamics365 and SAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work with large amounts of data
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Be based in Portugal (mandatory)
