THE POSITION
- Responsible for mold quality and in house repairs
- KPI achievement for no tooling and repair
- Ensure all documentation is filled out properly and turned in at end of shift to include mold repair log, blocking forms, and BOL to and from King Machine
- Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerances, have good mechanical skills, be self-managed/motivated, and able to work as a part of a team
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment
- Must have strong troubleshooting, critical thinking skills, communications skills, basic computer skills, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of operating, monitoring, and setting up curing press including limits, clearances, tension, and other setup parameters
- Must be able to receive and follow written and oral instructions as to specs, procedures, tolerances, and various construction and quality requirements and able to understand engineered drawings or be trained how to
- Responsible for vent mods, replacement, and repair
- Responsible for mold assemblies, modifications, cleanings (on/off-line), visual imperfections, gap checks and pre-loads
- Perform shift changeover with previous shift leader to ensure smooth information exchange
- Monitor CGMS for downtime to ensure molds are returned to presses in a timely manner
- Utilize SAP for assembly/disassembly of molds and other mold transactions needed
- Recommend changes to curing mold supervisor as needed depending on situation of molds and their conditions
- Keep mold shop supervisor informed of all information related to safety incidents, mold repairs, and any production interruptions due to mold issues
- Utilize FIFO of molds for repair in mold shop to ensure first received is first back to press
- Ensure that all mold work instructions, procedures, and specifications are followed
- Follow standard practices and follow plant safety policies, environmental policies, and keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly
- Support the day shift mold techs with grader call issues
- Follow the internal ESH work instructions in the daily work
- Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others
- Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards
- Support the Continental Business System (CBS) structure by participating in the applicable CBT meeting, reviewing and managing his/her/team performance, conducting simple problem-solving using action sheets, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, participating in the CBT reviews, and taking ownership for presented parts of the team boards
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years’ experience in the mold shop
- Strong mechanical knowledge of mold operation and configuration
- This role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to frequently bend, climb, kneel, and lift up to 100 lbs. in hot environment and stand for long periods of time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior relevant tooling and mold experience
- Vocational or post-secondary mechanical training
- Welding and machining experience
