Overview:

This internship opportunity will be onsite at the Horace Mann Headquarters in Springfield, IL and last roughly 11 weeks this summer!

We will require this new team member to be onsite Monday - Friday, with an anticipated start date of Tuesday, May 29th.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Performs legal research and analyzes law sources.
  • Assists attorneys in preparation of legal papers and documents.
  • Assists attorneys in project-specific assignments.

Standard Requirements:

  • Candidates must be entering their 2nd year of law school as of the 2024/2025 school year.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills are a must.
  • We expect proficiency in LexisNexis.
  • Prior research experience comparing and contrasting different state laws will be immensely helpful.
  • You'll have to possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects at once being a critical piece of this role.
  • This opportunity will expand upon your basic analytical skills, knowledge and experience working in a team environment, along with developing and managing project timelines.
