Intern Position Summary:
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering student to add to EVgo’s EVSE engineering team to support research, design, prototyping, documentation, project management, and testing and validation of EVSEs and its auxiliary systems.
The intern will work onsite at our innovation lab in El Segundo, CA. Internship will be 20-hours per week and run through the end of the year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for a variety of projects including designing, prototyping, and working with EVgo’s suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Testing, validation, and report-out of auxiliary components with respect to overall product requirements as well as structural and mechanical reliability
- Testing, validation and research on thermal management systems
- Assist with setup of PDM system and associated vault for purposes of BOM change tracking and revision control
- Create and develop installation/training materials for engineering processes
- Support equipment deployment to ensure the quality of completed projects

Perform all other relevant duties and assignments
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Working towards bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and any relevant certifications recognized by the ASME
- Experience working with 2D and 3D design and manufacturing software, preferably SolidWorks
- Proficiency in writing reports and technical writing
- Knowledge or experience with thermal systems
- Knowledge or experience with EVs and EVSE design and development desired
- Hands on assembly and fabrication experience
- Experience with electromechanical systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio
- Effective organization and communication skills

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 USD.
