Rockstar Games is on the lookout for an intern who will work with our hardware engineering group. As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with an experienced team deploying and supporting new gear around the world.

This is a paid, fixed term contract position running for 10 weeks from June 2025 to mid-August 2025, with the expectation of a 40-hour work week. The successful candidate will work in Rockstar’s studio facilities in Los Angeles, CA.

WHAT WE DO

• The Hardware Engineering team designs mocap and production electronics.
• We collaborate with motion capture teams, assessing their needs and creating and inventing new devices.
• We design cameras, high precision timing circuits, scanners and more, all in the service of creating the best games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist hardware engineers in performing tasks such as constructing electronic equipment.
• Assemble and solder components. 
• Operate 3D printers, milling machine, and drill.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from Leads and team members and collaborate with members of the performance capture technical group.  

QUALIFICATIONS

• This internship is intended for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates who have completed coursework in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
• Please note this is an in-person role based in Los Angeles, California.

SKILLS

• Interest or experience designing circuit boards and programming embedded systems.
• Passion for tinkering.
• Demonstrated involvement in related work performed outside of academic requirements
• Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
• Great team communication skills.
• Excellent writing skills

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

• Embedded Linux experience.
• Experience with Python and C.
• Familiarity with Rockstar products.
