The Financial Accountant is integral to the smooth and efficient operation of the company’s financial activities. This role involves overseeing daily financial tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and delivering accurate insights to support critical business decisions. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, the Financial Accountant upholds the integrity of financial data and processes while promoting transparency and accountability. The role also focuses on streamlining financial workflows by identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, the Financial Accountant takes the lead on special projects to strengthen the organization’s financial health and achieve strategic objectives.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for overseeing and executing payment transactions through the company’s financial and broker administration systems, ensuring all vendor payments, client reimbursements, and operational expenses are processed promptly and accurately. This role includes maintaining general and trust accounts in full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, monitoring account activity daily, and proactively managing discrepancies. Regular reconciliation of accounts is a key responsibility, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and aligned while swiftly addressing any inconsistencies to uphold financial integrity.
Additionally, the Financial Accountant organizes and maintains comprehensive historical records of all financial transactions, ensuring documentation is thorough and accessible for audits and reference. They prepare detailed month-end and year-end financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, adhering to internal and external reporting standards and deadlines. Payroll management is another critical aspect of the role, which involves processing employee payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and addressing payroll inquiries or discrepancies promptly.
The role also requires completing and submitting regulatory forms, financial spreadsheets, and reports in alignment with the latest compliance standards, as well as supporting budget preparation through detailed financial analyses to assist decision-making. The Financial Accountant plays an essential part in audit preparation, providing necessary documentation, reconciliations, and financial data to facilitate both internal and external audits efficiently.
