Interim Head of Account Management, Marketing Solutions (m/f/d)

Job Purpose 

This is a senior management position in our commercial Marketing Solutions business. Our Marketing Solutions products are designed to show researchers ads for the products and services they need to do their work. We provide companies offering these products and services with the opportunity to target their ads to specific scientific audiences.

Account Managers are the main point of contact for our customers, and focus on delivering outstanding service and product performance while cultivating strong relationships. Your role will be to ensure your team performs these functions in a way that benefits our customers and the scientists on the ResearchGate network.

Responsibilities:

  • Head account management as a function, ensuring both excellence in delivery and further development to meet the changing needs of our customers.
  • Lead a team of account managers who are responsible for helping Life Science companies best use ResearchGate’s Marketing Solutions to achieve their business and marketing objectives.
  • Support team in revenue target attainment
  • Manage all aspects of the solution delivery process, from team development to strategic account planning, and be a senior point of contact of our customers.
  • Inspire and coach a team of front-line Account Managers to excel and accelerate the success of our clients.
  • Create impact outside your core role by influencing cross-functional teams and by being an effective organisational leader.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of people management experience in account management, and preferably several years of direct account management experience.
  • Demonstrated success of double digit growth in a multimillion-euro business annually
  • Clear customer orientation, with experience leading a team toward jointly defining customer objectives, including considerable experience developing joint-business-plans, QBRs, customer narratives, etc.  
  • Experience training and leading a team toward operational excellence, particularly regarding achieving digital-advertising KPIs.
  • Track record of leading initiatives within a senior leadership team in a way that drives innovation, builds buy-in, and ensures execution. 
  • Experience providing feedback and thought leadership to product and marketing teams in order to guide cross-functional priorities and help meet sales objectives.
  • Experience working with digital advertising, with global Life Sciences experience preferred, particularly as it relates to marketing and content marketing within these industries.
