About the Role

The role of Interim Group Financial Controller (‘IGFC’) is to efficiently and accurately oversee the financial management of the business. Reporting to the Group CFO, the IGFC will assume a hands-on role in developing the finance function of the business, including preparation of management accounts, monthly reporting, cash flow management and managing the annual audit. 

Requirements

Financial Controller responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the collection and consolidation of all subsidiaries data, producing a consolidated P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and appropriate monthly/quarterly reporting packs
  • Carry out monthly reconciliation of all Group level balances, resolving any outstanding issues
  • Continue to develop financial systems, processes and controls across the group
  • Oversees day-to-day financial management of all Group companies, ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Manage Group liquidity and cash flow
  • Oversee the Group audit process
  • Oversee and manage the groups payroll both via Xero and outsourced providers
  • Provide supporting documentation to inform forecasts, budgets, proposals and procurement negotiation
  • Prepare and present annual financial statements and consolidated statements under UK GAAP
  • Partner with the Group CFO and CEO, providing financial insight and constructive challenge
  • Assist Group leadership with investment decisions, providing relevant info and analysis as required

The Ideal Candidate:

 

  • 5+ years post qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)
  • 2+ years in a similar industry role
  • Team management and team development experience
  • SaaS industry experience
  • UK payroll experience
  • Experience managing and operating in a multi-territory and multi-currency environment
  • Strong financial analysis and UK and US GAAP knowledge
  • Experience in improving systems and procedures would be beneficial
  • Knowledge / use of Xero would be advantageous
  • Experience of dashboard reporting tools (Qlik, Powerbi) would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic business knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence
  • Committed, enthusiastic and able to use initiative to drive the business forward
