Insurance Verification/Legal Confirmation Specialist will be responsible for submitting claims to insurance companies, perform corresponding follow-ups as needed, and communicating with legal offices to confirm representation for patients.
What does a day in the life of an Insurance Verification/Legal Confirmation Specialist (CSR) look like?
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform job-related functions.
- Verify all patient information is reflected accurately in all applicable electronic medical record (EMR) systems in accordance with documentation provided.
- Performs outbound calls with Insurance companies to retrieve and notate claim/policy details, benefit information, and points of contact with medical adjusters if applicable.
- Performs outbound calls with legal firms for confirmation of representation and updates in applicable systems.
- Prepares and submits clean claims to various automotive and major medical insurance companies in a timely manner.
- Answers inbound calls insurance companies to retrieve benefit information.
- Responds effectively to emails from administrative staff and from patients in a timely manner.
- Participates in additional trainings and staff meetings.
- Maintains strict confidentiality to patient information and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
What are the required qualifications of an Insurance Verification/Legal Confirmation Specialist (CSR)?
- At least 1 year of experience in a call center, healthcare, or insurance-related role.
- Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Must possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
- Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude essential.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, office functions and office software packages.
Technology and Remote Requirements:
- A computer system with a minimum of 2 monitors and internet speeds no lower than 50mbps.
- A camera, audio and microphone capabilities for training through Microsoft Teams.
- Preferable wired internet to WIFI to maintain consistent connectivity.
- A quiet and secure space, free from distractions and security in compliance to HIPAA for patient information.
