Our Ways of Working

We have team members located across the United States and Canada spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. 

We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.

We’re looking for an Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be the backbone of insurance transparency, conducting detailed insurance verification to create seamless billing processes. Reporting to the Insurance Claim Recovery Manager, you’ll collaborate across departments to elevate the patient experience and make a meaningful impact.

Who You Are

• Benefit Investigation Mastery: You excel at conducting detailed insurance benefit investigations both online and over the phone.
• Pre-Certification Proficiency: You can identify plans requiring pre-certifications, gather documents, and submit additional required information seamlessly.
• Detail-Oriented Analysis: You spot plans where benefits apply toward deductibles/coinsurance and flag them for review.
• Patient-Centric Communication: You positively engage with patients to obtain necessary information for verifying benefits.
• Data Insight Savvy: You identify patterns in user input data to suggest and implement website improvements.
• Tech-Savvy: You’re a pro with Excel and Microsoft Word, bringing efficiency to your work.
• Strong Communicator: You take pride in your clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal—ensuring smooth interactions with insurance companies and patients.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Customer Service Champion: You’ll deliver exceptional support, resolving insurance inquiries and making every post-shipment patient interaction a positive experience.
• Patient Experience Advocate: You’ll use your commercial billing expertise to create smooth, hassle-free processes while gathering the information needed to verify benefits.
• Claims Follow-Up Expert: You’ll take charge of claims 30 days or older, following up via phone or online to ensure timely resolution.
• Accuracy Pro: You’ll review, correct, and resubmit claims rejected by the clearing house, providing updates and follow-ups to keep things moving seamlessly.

• Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is $52,082.00 - $78,227.00

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
