Primary Function of Position
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design and content development of mission-critical learning programs, including but not limited to eLearning, instructor-led training, technical product videos, assessments, and blended learning solutions. Primary audience is Intuitive customers. Development will focus on the clinical and technical aspects of our Intuitive products and will be developed using programs like Storyline 360, Rise 360, and Microsoft Office.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Project manage all phases of multiple learning deliverables – analysis, design, development, implementation, & evaluation.
- Proactively communicate task and project status to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and scope deliverables.
- Participate in content and needs analysis.
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and scope content needs, and develop content.
- Identify and craft sound and measurable learning objectives.
- Contribute to curriculum maps for components/ areas of responsibility.
- Design and develop training content that engages learners, addresses identified learning objectives, uses an appropriate training modality and learning interventions, and adheres to adult learning principles.
- Collaborate with the multimedia team to create or modify media assets to support instructional needs.
- Manage review cycles with multiple SMEs and collate and implement feedback.
- Conduct peer review and QA of deliverables.
- Work with Implementation Administrator to manage deliverables through the document control, translation, implementation, and launch process.
- Participate in the evaluation of learning content using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to drive design/development improvements.
- Participate in identifying process improvement opportunities and development of tools and templates to improve operational and instructional design efficiencies.
Skill / Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 yrs. relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 1-2 yrs. experience in biotech or medical device organization preferred.
- Education Background:
- Curriculum Development or Instructional Design/Technology degree preferred.
- Education degree acceptable.
- College degree required.
- Comprehensive experience designing and developing eLearning, instructor-led training, assessments, and blended learning solutions.
- Demonstrated application of adult learning theory, analysis tools and process, evaluation tools and models, assessment best practices, and learning objective construction.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working and collaborating with SMEs and other Instructional Designers to create robust content solutions.
- Experience managing review cycles with multiple reviewers.
- Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple development projects and deadlines, and adapt to project changes.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work with instructional design processes, tools, and templates.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Software Proficiency Required:
- Articulate Storyline and Rise
- MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- MS Teams, SharePoint, or similar team collaboration tool
- Smartsheet or an equivalent project management tool
- Software Proficiency Preferred:
- Camtasia
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, After Effects, Photoshop)
- Must provide work samples and/or portfolio.
