The Opportunity

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, SAIT, is Alberta’s leader in applied education and its third-largest post-secondary institution. It is a beacon of excellence in technical education, innovation, and workforce development in Canada.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grants Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Lead, Prospect Research & Pipeline, in Advancement Services, the Grant Coordinator will play an essential role at SAIT, acting as the linchpin that coordinates grant activity across campus. The Grant Coordinator will work with departments and schools across campus to identify funding needs, align needs with potential grant sources, coordinate the application process, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
 
The Grant Coordinator’s project management skills, strategic planning experience and diligence will ultimately lead to an increase in the number of targeted grants applied for across campus and an increase in the dollar value being awarded to SAIT.

The Role

  • Research and identify suitable grants to further SAIT initiatives.
  • Work with SAIT schools and departments to identify funding needs.
  • Once needs are identified, match needs with grant opportunities and coordinate grant submissions throughout SAIT to ensure the strongest SAIT submission and highest likelihood success.
  • Coordinate the application process and meticulously track and document compliance throughout the lifecycle of each grant, ensuring all activities adhere to both internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a database of current and past grant applications, successful awards, and related documents for easy access and reference.
  • Support internal grant selections such as the Cisco Catalyst Chair and Legacy 88 Endowments
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant management and funding opportunities relevant to SAIT’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
  • Minimum    
  • Diploma in a related field such as Business.
  • 5+ years’ experience in grant writing, management and administration.
  • Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Business, Public Administration, Communications, English, or Nonprofit Management.
  • 5+ years’ experience in grant writing, management and administration.

  • Qualifications, Certifications or Designations:
  • Project management certificate

Skills Required

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for tracking deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with strategic planning
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Experience in fostering effective communication within multidisciplinary groups and build positive relationships.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian funding landscape and familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.

Salary Range: $65,745.00 - $95,000.00
