About Commercial Finance
In Commercial Finance we work with the business to identify and focus on the things that will make the biggest difference to our business performance. We focus on BAU trading and are central to the transformation of the Asos business, providing strong financial leadership.
Commercial Finance is made up of 4 key sub functions -
- Customer proposition (sales, returns, marketing),
- Supply Chain
- Product
- Central Team (Co-ordinating processes such as month end and budget).
By having all these areas together, we can work to ensure all decisions lead to stronger end to end value.
As the Finance Analyst in the team, you will be central to working with the business to provide insights to guide our key business decisions (BAU and transformation). Using your technical system skills (like SQL), and your curious mindset you will be able to understand performance, explain it and be key to discussions and guiding the business to take the right decisions.
There are no set routines (i.e. regulatory reporting), as we want you to focus on the key projects and performance that will be most valuable to the business, which we define in our weekly planning cycle. Some of the key project areas that are live and on the horizon, are:
- Returns – understand the customer drivers of returns better
- How we better reward and look after customers
- How we move to being more customer lead in our financials (e.g. forecast process)
- How to leverage datasets into our reporting in more efficient ways
- Creating a data savvy commercial finance team

- Staying close to the performance of the business so you always have the context
