Merlyn Mind is a "Remote First" VC-backed AI EdTech startup that brings the latest advances in AI to Education to help improve the lives of teachers and ultimately the learning outcomes of their students. Our leadership team includes talents from IBM, Amazon, Facebook, Roku, Broadcom, HP, Allen Institute for AI, and more. We have come together to build on a unified product experience for an extremely urgent mission – building a digital assistant for teachers, to untether teachers from the desk and help them with managing classroom technologies.

As an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) for Merlyn Mind, you, will be responsible for delivering net new account wins across the Education K-12 & Higher Education segments. You will drive not only revenue but profit that will position our company for continued growth and success. You will champion the innovative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in how teachers teach, students learn and how Merlyn Mind can provide teachers with the necessary assistance to manage the
complexity of the classroom through Classroom Orchestration solutions.  

This is 100% new acquisition sales, focused on building new clients.  A successful candidate will demonstrate proven success in leveraging the channel to penetrate accounts.  

A regional team made up of an ISR, Field AE, and Customer Success agent work together to address opportunities in territory. As an ISR for Merlyn Mind, you will work opportunities for small and medium size schools and districts. The ISR will become a trusted resource and develop relationships with prospects, guiding the opportunity through the evaluation and ordering process. The ISR is focused on high volume outbound activity, lead qualification, and developing a consistent meeting schedule for customer meetings and demos. 

Essential qualifications include a deep understanding of the Education segment which includes selling full solutions, strong sales strategy, and execution skills.  Since we are a start-up company, any candidate must exhibit a strong acquisition skill set, growth mind set and strong expertise in virtual selling.   

What you’ll do:

  • Independently identify, develop, and close new opportunities across the Education Market 
  • High level customer management relationship building, working at management and executive level  
  • Ability to coordinate multiple internal and external partners on multiple levels to deliver appropriate solution to the customer 
  • Strong relationships with both the traditional and non-traditional Channel 
  • Expertise in managing end- to-end sales processes 
  • Broad understanding of the customer's needs; applies standard as well as creative solutions to meet those needs; particularly considering the education market 
  • Advanced sales negotiation, and deal closing skills 
  • Consistently achieve revenue objectives while driving consistent and exponential growth 
  • Independently develop, implement, and execute an effective sales strategy to achieve sales goals 
  • Develop key Customer relationships and earn the position of trusted “advisor” 
  • Deeply understand our company mission, offerings, and roadmap 
  • Demonstrated track record of top performance 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple internal and external partners on multiple levels to deliver the sale 
  • Effectively and consistently use Salesforce.com and other reporting tools to track key sales metrics, as well as build and manage the pipeline 

  • The position is work from home with 10% Travel (When the business environment allows) 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent professional work experience
  • 3+ years of successful technology sales is required. Selling into Education is preferred
