- Review and analyze transactions from an indirect tax perspective.
- Review legal agreements from an indirect tax perspective and draft related tax clauses.
- Review and oversight of periodical and annual VAT returns, recapitulative statements, and any other indirect tax compliance obligations, including journal entries for tax accounts.
- Prepare tax working papers for various group entities to facilitate tax reporting and audit support; manage and prepare deliverables for tax and financial audits.
- Financial data analysis; support IT enabled reporting; handle e-filing of tax returns.
- Prepare and manage all communications with local tax authorities as necessary.
- Perform analytical review and investigate any tax variances compared to previous periods; forecast tax liability for management reporting and other deliverables.
- Complete required tax reporting and payments and update internal tax and accounting trackers.
- Communicate any tax updates to relevant team members.
- Participation and assistance in development of accounting processes and internal controls, documentation of policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Mentoring team members with regards to more complex transactions.
- Preparation of or assistance on Intrastat reporting for Luxembourg group entities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or Business; Master’s degree a plus
- 5+ years’ experience in
- an advisory role (Big 4 or Law Firm experience) on indirect tax matters (e.g. VAT, GST) with a focus/client portfolio consisting of operational/multinational groups OR
- in a similar in-house position of a multinational group
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of indirect taxes and underlying technical analysis
- Previous experience with online digital services or e-commerce is a plus
- Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) is a plus
- Willingness to learn and master tax compliance matters in Luxembourg and foreign jurisdictions where the group has reporting obligations
- Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
