Indirect Procurement Operations Buyer

Overview:

The Indirect Procurement Buyer plays a crucial role in driving support and execution of purchasing requests from stakeholders across the entire Intuitive community. The position involves thorough assessment of all purchasing requests ensuring accuracy of information provided, completeness of required documentation, and working with requestors to resolve any issues associated with requisition requirements. Members of the Indirect Procurement Buyer team foster a highly supportive, collaborative environment with the objective of becoming a trusted advisor to the requestors.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Receive assignments in the form of purchase requisitions.
  • Review all related information within each requisition to ensure its accuracy, adherence to company policy and completeness of supporting documentation.
  • Create purchase requisitions on behalf of requesters, coordinate purchasing activities with cross-functional teams. Ensure required documents and agreements are obtained and in compliance with company policies and guidelines
  • Provide exemplary customer service support to internal stakeholders, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues related to procurement processes.
  • Address procurement challenges and obstacles by exercising in-depth analysis of situations and/or data and leverage expertise to find innovative and effective solutions.
  • Drive completions in line with team key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Tailor communications to meet the specific needs, preferences, and understanding of diverse stakeholders, including team members, management, and cross-functional partners.
  • Execute duties with minimal guidance and show strong initiative on active communications updating requestors and timely completion of requests.

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience in procurement, with a focus on customer support and managing purchasing buyer activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of indirect procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software (Coupa/Ariba/SAP/Oracle) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and highly self-motivated.
  • Exhibits a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities.
