Overview:

As an Imaging Scientist you will be a critical member of our growing Oncology & Systemic Disease Team. We are looking for a person with a strong knowledge of imaging science, image & data processing pipeline development, programming, automation, and quality systems. Solid organization and communication skills are required in the role to facilitate cross-departmental communication and external sponsor communications and presentations.

Within the Imaging Scientist role, you will contribute to targeted analysis development areas, predominantly within oncology imaging. Examples include support clinical trials across oncology and theranostics, whole body PET/SPECT/planar image processing algorithm development.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide internal consulting support to the Scientific and Medical Services department for a variety of imaging clinical trials, particularly in oncology, systemic disease, and theranostics.
  • Support the design, development, and execution of image and data processing pipelines in support of clinical imaging trials, including for use in a validated core lab environment.
    • Image & data processing pipelines will include, but are not limited to, analysis of PET, SPECT, CT, and gamma counter data.
  • Oversight of image and data quality control methods, documentation, and best practices, including for use in development of validated, 21 CFR part 11 compliant workflows.
  • Communication and collaboration across many internal teams in support of method and process development for image analysis in imaging clinical trials.
  • Research & development in support of novel image processing methods, tools, and pipelines.
  • Support for sponsor interaction, including capabilities presentations, scientific & medical services support, and data presentation/interpretation.
  • Project management and oversight, including training, mentoring, and support of junior staff who assist in image and data processing pipeline execution and quality control.
  • Participation in the publication of scientific papers and presentations

Qualifications/Skills:

Required:

  • PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or related field with 0-3 years of industry or academic experience in nuclear medicine or medical imaging
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Programming/scripting experience with a variety of languages including but not limited to Python and R

Preferred:

  • Experience in PET and/or SPECT imaging
  • Experience in PSMA PET imaging, including image analysis and interpretation and desire to learn and evolve in this rapidly growing field
  • Experience in radiation dosimetry and pharmacokinetic modeling based on gamma counter data
  • Experience with quality control systems and development within a regulated environment
  • Experience in imaging clinical trials, particularly in oncology
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a team to create generalized analysis tools whilst following internal code, documentation and workflow development guidelines
