Make a lasting impact on Jewish life through IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed), Hillel's innovative strategy that harnesses the power of Birthright Israel. In addition to guiding students on impactful Birthright Israel experiences, the IACT Coordinators will engage with the students prior to their departure and upon their return. They will empower them to be leaders in Jewish communities on campus, and inspire them to seek out additional Israel-related opportunities. IACT Coordinators are excited to engage students in Israel and in Jewish conversations and have a deep understanding of Jewish identity as a framework for shaping meaning, value, and purpose in the lives of emerging adults. They wake up each day (or at least most!) genuinely excited and enthusiastic to help students explore, experience, and create vibrant connections to Israel and Jewish Life. The IACT Coordinator is the center of Israel and student engagement on campus.

What You’ll Do

  • Travel to Israel with college students while leading immersive experiences
  • Build meaningful connections with students and seek out students who are not yet involved in Jewish life
  • Serve as a thought partner and entrepreneurial leader for the campus Hillel’s student life staff and engagement strategy
  • Recruit, coordinate, and curate a meaningful Birthright Israel experience for students 
  • Staff Shabbat dinners and help celebrate holidays with the campus community
  • Manage campus Hillel’s Birthright Israel program including recruitment, interviews, pre-trip orientations, and creating the most impactful trip experience
  • Create ways to elevate student passions and craft experiences that reflect the interests of the student body
  • Manage post-trip engagement and develop Jewish experiences and opportunities for Birthright Israel alumni
  • Support recruitment for other immersive experiences in Israel including Onward Israel, Masa Israel, and Maccabee Task Force
  • Develop and nurture relationships with University personnel and partners throughout campus
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in regular supervision with supervisor
  • Collaborate with other Hillel staff to help shape and develop the mission of the campus Hillel

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Entrepreneurial energy and a passion for Judaism, Israel, and the Jewish People
  • Creativity, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability to take initiative, interest in professional growth, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership development skills
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
  • Things may not always go according to plan, but you are willing to take risks and learn from your wins as well as your losses

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 depending on experience and location.
