The WinnCompanies Military Housing team is seeking an action and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the Winn Military Accounting division.

Through the use of solid accounting, analytical and time management skills the Senior Accountant will provide expertise to process, review, and evaluate the financial transactions of an assigned portfolio of housing properties. By ensuring the accuracy of all financial data related to those properties, the Senior Accountant will enable our client to enhance the financial performance of those properties. Please note that the salary offered is $62,400 annually. This is a hybrid opportunity with the following work schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with 2 remote days and 3 in-office days (Tuesday through Thursday).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare intricate calculations and journal entries for assigned Project Company along with related account reconciliation workbooks. This includes management fees, gross potential rent, open purchase order accrual, bad debt reserve, payroll accrual, and others as assigned by Accounting Manager/Financial Controller.
  • Ensure all fixed assets are entered in the Yardi Fixed Asset module and that all asset reports tie to balance sheet each month. Record entries to post depreciation expense.
  • Assist in the establishment and directs the implementation of accounting policies and procedures. This is an ongoing review and modification process.
  • Oversee duties associated the posting of electronic rental payments (MAC/DFAS) and assist with MIMO files.
  • Participate in the completion and issuance of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements/reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 - 5 years related work experience
  • Experience with Yardi and/or similar software.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
