Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

The Controls Engineering (TR) supervisor is responsible and engineering team of ~ 4 employees that are responsible for managing the day-to-day control engineering of a multi-Fab Semiconductor facility. Ensure all aspects of day-to-day controls engineering activities are reliable, efficient and meet safety and compliance requirements. Controls Engineering (TR) supervisor leads, coordinates & sets direction for the team. The leader will also support other teams within Facilities Operations Management (FOM) group as part of the overall FOM Leadership Team.

Specific Job Duties:

Operational Support
• Provide day to day support of Operational and Engineering issues within FOM
• Lead in troubleshooting of systems
• Complete monthly system operational cost analysis
• Analyze data to predict utility usage
• Responsible for monitoring current system demands and capacity concerns
• Investigate ways to reduce the cost of maintenance or improvement projects
• Lead team to create & modify DCS / FMCS system to improve efficiency or operation of systems
• Implement processes & procedures to improve and standardize work across the team & site
• Provide coaching to junior engineers

Engineering Support
• Coordinates Facilities equipment improvement projects.
• Leads Task Force Teams (TFT)
• Develop projects based on Engineering or Operational Needs
• Perform detailed analysis of problems and all possible solutions
• Perform cost/benefit analysis and engineering recommendation
• Develop necessary scope of work for the project (i.e. controls, software, etc)
• Assist with and/or complete design
• Coordinate installation and commissioning
• Develop standard operating procedures and assist in implementation
• Train facilities personnel on new system and proper operations
• Ensure proper closeout of the entire project
• Communicates technical information to executive leadership

Supervisory Responsibility

This is a supervisor role. Will require professional coaching and development of engineering members of the team. Role will require providing consistent feedback through reviews and 1:1 meetings. As part of the development process, the management of performance of the team will be included in the scope of the role.


Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Skills and Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field. Minimum of 6 years with at least 1 year in leadership role with direct reports.

Preferred Education and Experience
Minimum 10 years of Honeywell Experion PKS engineering experience with advanced knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming languages and ANSI/ISA-101.01-2015 standard for Human-Machine Interfaces.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming languages and ANSI/ISA-101.01-2015 standard for Human-Machine Interfaces.
• Possess strong working knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (i.e. Ethernet/IP, Modbus, BACnet).
• Ability to analyze large volumes of data, identify issues and provide solutions to closure.
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to coordinate and communicate technical information to and from all levels of the organization.
• Able to influence up, down, and across the organization to create and drive change.
• A history of “hands-on” approach to problem solving and countermeasure implementation within own areas of responsibility.
• Proactive and self-driven approach to overcome challenges and achieve results.
• Experience working at an advanced manufacturing facility such as a semiconductor manufacturing plant.
