As a Human Rights Partner within our Responsible Sourcing team, this is a great opportunity to provide strategic input on the ASOS audit programme, in collaboration with local managers. This person will have responsibility for established audit programmes in key geographical regions and take a lead role on assigned strategic workstreams. 

The Details  

Human Rights  

  • Contributing to the delivery of the ASOS human rights programme in our direct supply chains, including management of the factory assessment and improvement process, risk based due diligence, and delivery of appropriate actions remedying human rights impacts. 
  • Working with sourcing and other key business stakeholders to map our supply chain. Providing impetus, stakeholder engagement, conducting research, developing robust processes, standards and assessment methods, identifying risks and designing due diligence approaches.     
  • Managing department activity against Policies and ensures development of policy where appropriate. 

Country Focus 

  • Managing the audit programme and acting as lead on strategic workstreams for specific regions.
  • Planning, evaluating and improving the functionality of ASOS human rights programme, in consultation with internal, regional and other relevant stakeholders.

Supplier and Factory Risk Management 

  • Managing critical issues, remediation and reduction of risk in collaboration with senior management.
  • Developing strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring collaborative work towards risk reduction.  
  • Working with local and commercial teams on supplier strategy to address and mitigate risks in the supply chain. 
  • Providing training on ethical standards and ASOS requirements. 

Strategic Implementation 

  • Developing strategy with key stakeholders, overseeing strategic implementation and activities within relevant regions.
  • Identification, design, and delivery of human rights projects to further deliver our strategic goals.  
  • Ensuring human rights strategy continuously adapts to current and emerging risk areas.

Reporting 

  • Managing the preparation and delivery of ongoing internal department reporting. 
  • Supporting the delivery of external reporting relevant to areas of strategic focus. 

Stakeholder Management 

  • Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to contribute to the team’s strategic goals.
  • Representing ASOS within multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Engaging internal business functions to further understanding of the human rights programme throughout ASOS and ensure commercial strategy is consistent with our FWI strategy and ethical business standards.

Team Management 

  • Managing and developing a Human Rights Assistant and supporting other team members where necessary

About You

  • Significant experience working within a related field, ideally within a commercial environment
  • A strong interest in human rights and ethical trading within the fashion industry  
  • Proven experience of leading cross-functional, strategic projects 
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence and negotiate  
  • Experience working with budgets
  • People management experience
