School/Position Overview

BelovED Academy is a highly successful K-12 charter school in the culturally vibrant Jersey City. BelovED currently serves over1500 students. It is seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist.

Salary

$55,000-$75,000

Job Responsibilities

The Employee shall report to the Executive Director.

Among other responsibilities not here enumerated, the Employee shall provide Business Office support relating to:

• Recruiting and supporting the hiring of new staff members
• Managing/supporting certification process for instructional staff
• Managing timesheet process for tutoring, club payments, etc.
• Supporting personnel issues and concerns
• Supporting/managing our outreach efforts (e.g., social media)
• Managing partnerships with certain outside organizations
• Managing Open Houses for student enrollment
• Supporting other HR and staff culture initiatives

The Employee may be assigned other duties from time to time or permanently to support school operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree;
• 3+ Years Human Resources or operations Experience;
• Having charter school experience in operations or HR is a plus;
• Demonstrated knowledge of HR management, policies, best practices and procedures;
• Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written);
• Proficient in Excel and Google Docs;
• Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the organization and employees;
• Ability to travel to school locations to meet with staff as needed;
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
