POSITION CLASSIFICATION
For Our Future recognizes a staff bargaining unit, affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 494, a labor union. This position is NOT included in the For Our Future bargaining unit.
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support
effective and efficient operations of For Our Future Action Fund’s human resource department.
They will work closely with Pennsylvania's HR team supporting recruitment, onboarding and
payroll administrative tasks.
This position is anticipated to run through at least December 12, 2024.
Essential Functions
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation in the company HRIS system, while maintaining its integrity and confidentiality.
- Refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Assist with recruitment for state teams, making sure offer letters and background checks are completed by applicants
- Assist with coordinating welcome emails and new hire orientations to new employees
- Assist with collecting I-9 documentation virtually, in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
- Assist the national operations team, in making sure all employee MVR documents are collected in accordance with the company driver policy.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies and the hiring process.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and auditing timesheets on a weekly basis.
- Assists with all clerical duties of the HR team, including planning and execution of special events such as open enrollment, organization-wide meetings, and employee recognition events.

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or equivalent work experience, required.
- At least 2 years of experience in HR Administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

- Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position at a desk and working on a computer

Expected Hours of Work
- Normal hours of business are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time Monday thru Friday, however employees may be required to work outside of normal business hours including weekends and nights.
- Employees are required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle or other key deadlines, and generally not allowed to take off during blackout periods. Emergencies are not affected by this policy.
Work Environment
This position is currently remote and will have a remote option until further notice. Employees will therefore work and interact primarily in a virtual environment for the duration of this temporary position, unless extended. Employees may be required to periodically travel to and/or work out of office locations in Washington, DC or at state offices.
