Human Experience at Retro, creatively discover/source/recruit and draw in elite candidates + serve as a trusted resource to resolve issues/HR

Redwood City, United States
Full-Time
Retro develops therapies for diseases driven by the biology of aging. We focus on cellular reprogramming and autophagy to rejuvenate cell and tissue function with the ultimate aim of adding 10 years to a healthy human lifespan.

We’re building a mission-driven team of accomplished and kind individuals who embrace our startup culture of rapid iteration, transparency, and versatility.

We have an open position for someone to own the human experience at Retro. This person will report to the CEO.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as Retro’s people person
  • 80% finding new people, 20% helping existing people
  • You will not be just a “recruiting coordinator” role; you will creatively discover and draw in elite candidates
  • Serve as a trusted resource to help resolve issues
  • Be a fierce advocate of Retro’s mission and amplifier of its unique culture
  • Live and breathe our work as one of the important things in your life – not to the exclusion of all else, but also not with a hard boundary between “living” and “working”, rather recognizing that they flow together into a rewarding whole

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have at least 5 years of team management
  • You have sourcing and HR experience
  • Are energetic, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and deeply pragmatic. You thrive in a culture that embraces rapid iteration and open, straightforward communication
  • Are more pirate than navy
  • You move fast and maintain a high level of attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Often receive feedback like “I feel heard AF”
  • Have experience with ATS (e.g. Lever, Greenhouse)

We take pride in cultivating an environment that fosters collaboration, open communication, and authenticity. We believe that great results are best delivered by a highly creative team working in concert. We are an equal-opportunity employer; we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We are diverse in background and singular in mission.

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000-140,000. Total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits including:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family
- 401(k) plan with 4% matching
- Unlimited time off and 10 company holidays per year
- Paid parental leave
- Annual learning & development stipend
- Free lunch and snacks
