HSE and Supply Operations Lead

Job Summary:

The role has dual responsibility for company’s health, safety and environment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing the company's overall supply and logistics operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. This role involves:

  • promoting a culture of safety within the organization and ensuring the health and well-being of the employees, as well as the environmental performance of the company; and
  • planning and monitoring the fulfilment of customers’ orders.
  • HSE Compliance
    • Policy Development: Create and implement comprehensive HSE policies and programs in accordance with legal guidelines and corporate standards.
    • Risk Assessment: Conduct and oversee regular risk assessments and hazard identification to mitigate potential HSE risks.
    • Compliance: Ensure that all aspects of the company's operations are compliant with local, state, and federal HSE regulations, as well as industry best practices.
    • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and management to foster a safety-conscious culture within the organization.
    • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into HSE incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of HSE metrics, incident reports, inspections, and audits for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Emergency Response: Develop and oversee emergency response procedures and provide guidance during emergency situations.
    • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update HSE practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and to adapt to new regulations or corporate requirements.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Supply Operations Coordination
    • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (commercial, finance and product development) and remote teams to ensure smooth supply operations.
    • Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels and ensure the balance of demand and supply through effective inventory management and forecasting.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously analyze current processes and systems to identify improvements and implement supply chain optimization strategies.
    • Cost Management: Monitor and manage expenses related to the supply chain process and implement cost-saving measures.
    • Compliance: Ensure all supply chain activities are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess operational efficiency and effectiveness.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), NEBOSH, IOSH, supply chain management (CSCP, CPIM)) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in an HSE or supply chain management role.
  • Experience with HSE management systems and logistics and planning processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
