Position Background
This position is part of the WorldFish Bangladesh team and is central to managing key HR functions, including recruitment, policy enforcement, performance management, and employee relations for WorldFish Bangladesh. This role also supports internal communication and engagement activities, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across the organization. With a commitment to quality and accuracy, this position maintains updated HR data, streamlines payroll and contract management, and guides staff exits, aligning all activities with established processes and organizational standards for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities that are crucial to the success of our team and organization. Your primary duties will include:
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment processes for Bangladesh, from job postings to final candidate recommendations, ensuring adherence to hiring standards and compliance.
- Communicate and enforce HR policies and procedures, regularly updating Standard Operating Procedures in alignment with global directives.
- Implement and manage the performance appraisal process to drive staff performance management for the country.
- Respond to and address employee concerns and relations issues by conducting thorough, fair investigations, collaborating with managers to resolve conflicts, and implementing proactive solutions. This includes fostering open communication channels, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and ensuring that all staff feel supported and heard in matters impacting their work experience and well-being.
- Ensure effective implementation of HR policies, aligning all activities with organizational plans while proactively updating country-specific policies to comply with local laws and regulations.
- Oversee the monthly payroll process, providing timely updates to the Finance team.
- Coach, train, and mentor staff to build their capabilities, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support professional growth.
- Provide comprehensive HR administrative support by drafting contracts and documentation for all staff, consultants, and casual workers alongside managing consultancy contracts, payments, and ensuring compliance and record accuracy within the OCS system.
- Oversee the contract renewal process meeting timeliness standards aligning with business requirements.
- Manage and streamline exit processes for departing staff, ensuring all formalities and compliance documentation are meticulously completed.
- Undertake comparison of jobs and design remuneration packages to ensure internal equity.
- Prepare reports and presentations for HR projects and maintain thorough documentation to ensure HR compliance and audit readiness.
Requirements
This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
- At least 4 years ‘experience in human resource and administration related activities.
- Experience in recruitment and HR administration and knowledgeable in local HR laws, management and administration.
- Prior specific experience in reviewing delivery of HR services and ensuring consistency with standards and service delivery expectations.
- Prior experience in managing employee relation cases and on employment law.
- Analytical and detail-oriented approach to data management, with experience maintaining HR records, payroll, and contract documentation.
- Proficiency in HR information systems and data management software to ensure accurate, up-to-date record-keeping and reporting.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in HR processes, aligning practices with organizational and regional standards.
- Trustworthy, high level of integrity and ability to keep confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to deliver accurate and timely reports.
- Fluency in English and Bengali essential to communicate in writing and speaking Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Proficiency in analytics tools is highly desirable.
- Experience in a non-profit or international organization with an understanding of HR practices in a multicultural environment.

This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with salary commensurate to the position level. WorldFish NRS shall receive comprehensive benefits including (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, and pension / provident fund contribution.
Eligibility, Location and Duration
The position will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in November 2024 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence in January 2025 until December 2025.
