The Human Resources team responsible for our studios in Malta, Belgium and Spain, are seeking a Human Resources Employment Law Specialist.
Based in our Malta studio, the Human Resources Specialist will support with vital human resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standard and goal attainment.
The HR Employment Law Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the human resources administrative functions within our organization particularly around employee relations. This position requires a proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of HR practices, and a strong background in Maltese employment law. Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to build strong and efficient working relationships across different cultures and departments.
Main responsibilities include:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees, addressing HR related queries.
- Lead HR related meetings such as disciplinaries and grievances
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Update the HRIS system with new joiners, leavers, transfers, management and departmental changes
- Ensuring data integrity whilst updating the HRIS system and running reports
- Evaluate and improve inter and cross departmental HR related processes
- Provide ad-hoc operational and/or financial analysis support to any key projects as required
- Support Talent Acquisiton with reviewing and building work permits packs and applications for third country nationals in order to process applications
- Supporting current third country national employees with renewal of their work permit
- Supporting; preparing and implementing budgets
- Coordinating townhall meetings and collating presentations
- Supporting with the onboarding and induction process for all incoming employees
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve HR processes.
- Any other duties as required

- This role requires you to be fluent in Maltese and English, written and spoken.
- Strong knowledge of employment law is required.
- Proven experience in employee related matters
- Holds the equivalent of three years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven experience within a client-facing HR role in a fast-paced, fast-growing organisation
- Approachable and understanding, with strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
- Proactive and exceptionally organised with excellent attention to detail
- Experience managing stakeholders and building strong working relationships effectively
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to rapidly adapt to change
- Proactive and is able to work on own initiative and manage own workload effectively, whilst working closely with the team
- Motivated and able to overcome obstacles that come with working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with an HRIS: SagePeople would be considered a plus
- Capable of identifying priorities; work proactively with strong skills in the planning, organization, scheduling, problem solving and the resolution of conflicting priorities
- Familiar with MS Excel, able to organise data through features: pivot tables; vlookups; macros and text functions.
