The HR Project Manager works within the HR function as the project management subject matter expert, collaborating with stakeholders to define and obtain alignment on project scope, objectives, and deliverables. They are responsible for leading multiple projects comprising cross-functional teams, assigning tasks, setting goals, and providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle in addition to creating detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies. While these are primarily HR projects, the HR Project Manager will need to work effectively in a global environment and across various stakeholder groups (both within HR and the broader company) to ensure successful delivery of projects.
The position reports to HR Transformation Director. We are open to Chicago-based and remote candidates for this role.
Your Role in Action
- Act as a key functional liaison and drive critical HR projects and initiatives to completion across the various HR sub departments (Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Talent Management and Talent Acquisition).
- Work closely with the various project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new projects.
- Establish and communicate project goals, needs, key decisions, strategies, cross-functional teams, risks, and contingency plans. Track and report progress on key deliverables and project milestones, actions, and.
- Develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and leverage technology/resources and available data to understand trends, risks, and opportunities and improve existing processes to increase productivity.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.
- Partner with HR leadership to propose, refine, and implement process improvements, drive rigor and efficiency. Develop scalable and consistent ways of working to execute the HR projects, including documentation such as project charters, schedules, reports, and project home page. Promote industry standards/best practices and introduce new techniques as needed.
- Lead change management efforts and assist in developing training and resources for new processes and applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5-8 years of project management experience at a global organization.
- Expertise working with project management tools, such as MS Project, MS Excel, Asana, Jira etc.
- Working knowledge of HR processes, systems and best practices.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a passion for helping others learn and grow.
- Experience with change management and transformation including having worked with a wide range of individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan and execute multiple, complex projects within budget, on time, and with high quality deliverables.
- Experience in an international company on a global scale; considers country specific and local regulations that impact the overall outcomes (Accommodate local and global perspectives). Able to work collaboratively across time zones, specifically within all HR and primarily with IT, Finance, and Legal departments, and external vendors to ensure successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external partners.
- Proven analytical expertise, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Solid understanding of the HR function and related technologies and tools, such as the HRIS (Workday) and experience using Project Management tools such as Jira, Asana, etc.
- Adept at managing change, including the ability to anticipate and manage the project's impact on the organization's culture and structure, and able to identify and address issues that arise during the project.
- Direct or indirect experience leading others and working with cross-functional stakeholders globally.
- Exhibit effective leadership behaviors to motivate and manage project teams of people from diverse backgrounds, varying departments, levels, and roles.
- PMP certified and/or Change Management certified (e.g., CCMP, Prosci)
Compensation
- Relativity is committed to competitive, fair and equitable compensation practices.
- This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus target of 10%, and long-term incentives. The expected salary range for this role is between $112,000 - $168,000. The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
