JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY: 

The HR Operations Specialist will provide day-to-day leadership within the Teammate Services Operations (TSO) support team, providing feedback for escalated HR inquiries, administering workers’ compensation and leave of absence programs, and providing support to HR partners operations leaders. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES: 

  • Lead the scheduling, assignment, and daily workflow of the TSO support team.
  • Partners closely with HR Partners, SME’s, and other department leaders to create, deliver, and manage tools, reporting, and training in support of all core TSO processes.
  • Ensures the TSO team is providing consistent and timely support to the business, focusing on the customer experience.
  • Own the internal service request process by utilizing our system, Zendesk. Recommend improvements from teammate feedback for better service delivery.
  • Recommend improvements to HR processes, standardize work to support automation where feasible, leverage tools / systems to optimize and streamline the teams productivity and lead to a better teammate experience.
  • Creates and maintains personnel files and other human resources records.
  • Manages and updates the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other HR related systems. 
  • Lead and support various employee lifecycle events related to onboarding, talent development, performance management, and maintaining employee data.
  • Assists with various internal and external audits.
  • Track compliance with mandatory training.
  • Coordinates employee termination procedures and ensures all necessary paperwork is completed and filed. 
  • Answers frequently asked questions from teammates relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Provides assistance in the absence of others as necessary. 
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and customer service skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: 

  • 3-5 years of HR experience. 
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS: 

The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.
