Pumpkin is looking for a collaborative and agile Human Resources Generalist to support our business and rapidly expanding team. In this role, you'll provide strategic HR partnership in all things people & culture, serving as a trusted advisor and providing support to colleagues and managers on all HR-related topics and colleague relations. You will play an essential role in ensuring our HR policies, processes, and best practices are being met across the business, and help to set and execute on our People strategy as we scale. This will be a hybrid position, with a minimum requirement of 2 days a week in the NYC office.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide support to colleagues and managers on all HR-related topics throughout their employment life cycle at Pumpkin
  • Act as a trusted advisor for management providing HR guidance on a wide range of topics from colleague relations, performance management, etc. 
  • Display business maturity and strong emotional intelligence to coach, develop, influence, and counsel multi-level managers
  • Manage our new hire performance program as well as facilitating mid year and annual reviews
  • Skillfully navigate and resolve a spectrum of colleague relation cases, from straightforward to intricate. For certain cases, executing an effective, thorough, and objective investigation
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of colleagues, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance. Organize and facilitate Pumpkin’s compliance training
  • Analyze trends and metrics within the HR department to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Provide coverage support to our Workplace Specialist, being trained in office operations
  • Promote an inclusive work environment aligned with our people first philosophy and participate in the development of colleague experience initiatives (recognition programs, milestone recognition, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of HR Business Partner/Generalist or related experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field of study is preferred
  • Experience establishing strong and productive partnerships with colleagues and managers
  • Experience resolving colleague relation issues and conducting investigations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment and labor laws across the country, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations to ensure compliance
  • Business acumen, critical thinking, results oriented and the ability to identify effective solutions
  • Exceptionally organized, process-oriented and strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple high-priority requests 
  • Advanced knowledge and utilization of HR platforms (HRIS, PEO, ATS, etc.)
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Highly accountable with good discretion and the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information

Bonus Points:

  • Experience converting from a PEO to an HRIS 
  • Experience in HireRight, TriNet, and Lever
  • Experience supporting an hourly and/or sales workforce

The compensation for this position ranges from $60,000- $90,000 (annually). Compensation may vary outside the listed range, based on a number of factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, performance, skills, and experience. The compensation range listed is just one component of Pumpkin’s total compensation package for employees. Total compensation packages, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short or long-term incentives. If hired, employees will be in an ‘at-will position’ and Pumpkin reserves the right to modify compensation (as well as any other discretionary payment or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
