POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Feeding South Florida’s® (FSF) day-to-day Human Resources functions by supporting a high-performance culture focused on service and accountability. The HRG will assist with acquiring and retaining new and existing talent, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance with labor laws and company policies. The ideal candidate is committed to process improvement and has a “get the job done” attitude. FSF’s HRG should have a strong moral compass and understand that discretion is paramount to this role fostering a positive work environment and supporting the overall success of our HR operations.
SALARY: $52,000 - $62,000
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt: preparation, sourcing, screening, selection, hire, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings and consult on job descriptions, compensation, and sourcing strategies.
- Build and source from a pipeline of qualified candidates using the Applicant Tracking System database.
- Post job opportunities to appropriate outlets, attend job fairs (virtual or in-person), and network among local peer groups and within the non-profit network.
- Conduct and acquire background checks, drug tests, and employment eligibility verification.
- Serve as a point of contact for team members, providing guidance and support on HR-related inquiries, concerns, and issues referring complex and/or sensitive matters to HR leadership.
- Assist in managing performance improvement plans (PIPs) and corrective actions, ensuring consistency with company policies.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting team member engagement and resolving workplace conflicts.
- Perform tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to, orientation and onboarding, performance reviews, training and development, total rewards, and team member engagement.
- Assist with organizing and delivering training programs, including new hire training and ongoing professional development.
- Support the implementation of leadership and skill development for staff.
- Attend corrective action meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in updating and maintaining the team member handbook, ensuring that policies are clear and up to date.
- Support the performance evaluation process, assisting managers in setting goals and tracking team member progress.
- Maintain accurate team member records and HR documentation.
- Prepare presentations for company and department staff meetings.
- Liaise with IT and manage communication for new hires and terminations.
- Assist IT in the setup of office equipment.
- Manage and maintain a distribution list of equipment issued to staff.
- Request office equipment purchase as needed.
- Complete and provide people data as requested by leadership.
- Assist in building department SOPs.
- Build and design staff communications.
- Provide training to leadership in the use of ATS and other systems.
