The HR Advisor (Generalist) supports the development and implementation of people strategies in Norway. The HR Generalist manages all HR processes for the site in Norway in collaboration with site leadership and the regional HR manager. The role provides guidance and consultative and hands-on support, promoting positive employee relations. This includes compliance of global and local processes, interpretation of policies and procedures, and counseling managers and employees.
This role will be reporting directly to the HR Business Partner Norway, who is responsible for strategic leadership and partnering for the business unit, and is part of the Aftermarket HR Team.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Work together with HR Business Partner to facilitate long-term HR initiatives aligned with the local and global strategic agenda
Recommend and implement employee communication strategies, plans, policies and guidelines in accordance with company’s HR Strategies, in order to sustain company’s culture and enhance employees’ engagement
Help the plant and operation leaders to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards
Administer employee related processes including employee training, performance appraisals, promotions, hirings, and terminations
Proactively manage employee data in applicable HR systems and provide accurate HR data for analysis as required
Lead specific projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
Improve HR effectiveness and internal customer satisfaction by driving continuous improvement activities
Provide proactive coaching, consultation and direction to management in areas of performance management, training and development, compensation and overall organizational effectiveness
Counsel and advise employees and the leadership team regarding people policies, industrial relations, labor law, regulations, workforce, organization and employee issues
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource policies
Promote effective communications and employee relations
Provide Business Partner support for country business unit director and operation leaders
Act as a team role model
Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, major in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred
Work experience in HR functions, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of employee relations and legal issues
Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
People-oriented and good customer-focused mindset
Good command of oral and written English
Able to influence and resolve controversial, high-impact human resources issues
Willingness to take on what needs to be done, innovative problem-solver
Project management skills
Experience in coordinating, planning and deploying HR programs and initiatives
Practical knowledge in common computer software
