Job Purpose

This is a brand new role, working within the HR function. The HR Compliance and Employment Law Advisor is responsible for ensuring that Porsche is compliant with UK Legislation, Global Porsche Directives, and UK Policies and Procedures.

Reporting to the HR Director, they will be the subject matter expert in all employment law and compliance topics in the field of Human Resources.  This will include supporting the HR Managers and wider team with their responsibilities to maintain controls, align with Company Directives and limit risk.

They will be required to understand Porsche’s commercial operations and processes and embed a positive culture of HR Compliance Management and adherence to internal and external obligations.  From time to time, the role will involve supporting first line managers in their understanding of policies and procedures and adherence thereof.

Core Specific Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the HR Director and relevant topic owners, preparing the annual HR compliance plan and ensure adherence to.
  • Day to day management of HR specific Directives, (P24 Labour and Social Law Advice); P49 (HR Compliance); P05 (Correspondence and Signature Authorisation); P33 (Treatment of property and provided resources). 
  • Acting as subject matter expert for Employment Law topics and providing advice where requested on the above directives.
  • Ensuring the Human Resources departments obligations are met in all Compliance and Risk topics, including but not limited to:

o   UK Employment Law and all relevant, directives,  policies and procedures

o   GDPR and data subject access requirements and the management of the internal GDPR risk management system.

o   Financial Conduct Authority employment obligations - Adherence to FCA rules in respect of all activities undertaken and working with our Legal Team to ensure relevant rules and regulations are adhered to.

o   Employment Background screening and Right to Work Checking.

o   Retail Internal Control Systems (RICS).

o   Compliance testing and audits e.g. Together 4 Integrity (T4I), Compliance Quality Checking, Risk Management Test of Effectiveness, Retail Internal Control Systems (RICS)

  • Managing HR Compliance and Risk Topics by conducting periodic reviews, complying with audit requests, and completion of monthly, quarter and annual submissions.
  • Horizon scanning and reporting – identifying forthcoming UK law changes or trends, to gain approval for the updating for the company policies, practices, and procedures and implementation.
  • Supporting with the communication and role out of new Company policies and procedures.
  • Working with Director, HR to review and update the HR Business Continuity Plan and Business Crisis Plan. Ensuring this is reviewed regularly and tests carried out for effectiveness.
  • To assist the Director, HR in ensuring the company HR philosophy and principles is upheld, whilst taking into account the need to balance the relationship with the individual, the needs of the business and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure the highest levels of compliance across all HR activities, measured against internal Company Directives and external legislation.
  • Supporting on new HR projects, as well as developing existing processes within the HR department.

Requirements

Skills required

  • At least 3 years' experience in a HR role, ideally focused on compliance/ employment law / polices.
  • Relevant HR qualification, e.g  Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 5 or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a high-volume employee relations industry such as retail/ hospitality
  • Excellent organizational ability, with demonstrable systems, tools and techniques in place to support this;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the confidence to seek resolutions to issues without being asked to do so;
  • Pro-active approach to work, anticipating future challenges and requirements and flagging them early;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient manner;
  • Assured discretion and confidentiality;
  • High level of PC skills, including MS PowerPoint, MS word and MS Excel;
  • Previous project management support and co-ordination experience.

Please note, the above list of Core Specific Responsibilities and Core Accountabilities is not exhaustive, and the job holder will be expected to carry out other duties as reasonably assigned to them, in line with their ability and skillset.  The job holder’s primary focus will be on HR Compliance, however, will assist with other HR or Compliance matters, when necessary.
