LumiQ is hiring a

HR Business Partner

Toronto, Canada
Full-Time
We are looking for an HR Business Partner to help support our team and lead key HR initiatives as our organization grows. This role will help shape the future of the company, drive impactful employee initiatives, and foster a culture of high performance, learning and success. The ideal fit will have solid experience and understanding of HR best practices and employee management.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • We have a tremendous group of people managers, both new and experienced. This role will spend a lot of time collaborating with them to provide guidance, support, and advice. This calls for an empathetic, curious, and seasoned HRBP who isn’t afraid to ask questions or get into the weeds.
  • We love promoting from within, which means we have a lot of first time managers as our org structure grows with the company. This role will spend time coaching these newer managers on how best to support their team’s performance and development. The right candidate feels confident developing and running this type of training, and working with managers who may be struggling having hard conversations.
  • We are growing extremely fast– and with that, comes the need to build and update our processes to continue to work for our stage and size. This role will lead core HR processes such as performance management, employee engagement, and culture and retention initiatives.
  • We will be doing a lot of hiring over the coming months. While this role will not fully own recruitment, you should expect to work closely with hiring managers to help determine skill gaps on their teams and assist in building effective recruitment strategies.
  • Depending on the time of year (we tend to hire a lot at the start of our fiscal year) you may be called to help with recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and interview coordination.
  • Building a culture of continuous learning is important to us as LumiQ. This role will work closely with the Director of People Ops to run internal and external trainings and sessions focused on employee learning and development.
  • We try to make as many decisions as we can using data. The HRBP will be able to confidently analyze employee related data to guide decision-making to provide recommendations and solution.
  • Some other areas we are looking for you to feel comfortable sharing your knowledge and expertise in include employee relations, compensation, and organizational development.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a HR Business Partner or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience working in Talent Acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of Employment Standards in Ontario.
  • Good grasp of HRM techniques and excellent people management skills.
  • Familiarly with a variety of HR analytics techniques.
  • Ability to set up and track relevant metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong HR skills, but also a deep understanding of the business.
  • Previous experience working in the Tech space, supporting SaaS companies.
