In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Job Summary/Overview:

Samsung is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner that can provide professional consultation to leaders and employees on all HR related matters.

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with talent strategies. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the needs of the organization.

Overall, this position will support business group’s people agenda and translate business needs into HR actions.

Specific Job Duties:

This role will require you to roll-up your sleeves and solve tactical and strategic complex people topics.
• Provide both tactical support and strategic guidance.
• Build end to end Talent Strategies. Assess the organization's capability to deliver on business strategies, and proactively translate business needs into talent plan/strategy.
• Partner with the leaders to align HR deliverables with business strategy, which includes bring best practices to strategic and operational business discussion and people management decision making.
• Advise and collaborate with leaders, provide business insights through talent analytics, and drive talent initiatives.
• Coach and advice managers and employees on a variety of HR components impacting employee experience.
• Guide our business leaders to successfully drive individual performance within their organization, close capability gaps and ensure organizational effectiveness.
• Partner with Center of Expertise, execute and communicate HR initiatives/programs including goals, engagement surveys, succession planning, talent calibration discussions, org changes, employee development identification, etc.
• Ensure operational excellence to initiatives including talent reviews, workforce planning, talent analytics, headcount, succession planning, etc.. And overall process improvements of each.
• Effectively drive leadership development, management/employee coaching, and performance management.
• Analyze key trends HR metrics, identify areas of opportunities
• Facilitate training for employees and managers on HR topics.
• Create project plans and lead critical projects for the business and HR.
• Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed.
• Help foster a positive working environment.
• Build strong relationships and serve as a thought partner to support leaders and employees.

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

• Minimum of 5-7 years as an HRBP/HR experience.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial or Labor Relations or other related field.
• PHR, PHR, SHRM-CP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local and federal employment law (including FMLA, ADA, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

• Strong consultative, problem-solving, critical/analytical thinking abilities.
• Experience advising managers through complex employee issues & solving workforce challenges.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; must be able to effectively manage both ambiguity and aggressive timelines for projects.
• Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities, accepting responsibility for results of actions.
• Ability to effectively project manage, meet deadlines and commitments.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and organizational consulting skills;
• Interpersonal and communication experience and experience building relationships at all levels of the organization.
