The role
Provide fully generalist HR support to our colleagues at all levels across the business and will be an active participant in delivering the HR strategy through specific HR projects. You will also provide high level proactive and commercial Employee Relations advice and support for the operations team and functional departments. Focus of the role will be contributing to creating a responsive, expert point of contact that meets the needs of your key stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing
- Accountability for own caseload of ER matters, ensuring that the wider team has an understanding of the wider ER trends.
- Be a source of expert ER advice that is both commercial and balanced with consideration of any legal implications for people managers.
- Through coaching and influence, bring managers and colleagues to the right solution or an understanding any risks around their preferred approach.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of employment legislation and understand how this may impact on processes and policies. Recommend changes to the ER Manager as appropriate.
- Using management information, identify ER trends and work with the Employee Relations Manager on solutions as necessary.
- Contribute to the development of standardised toolkits & ER processes and work with managers and employees to attain consistency and compliance across the business maximizing self-sufficiency.
- Contribute to projects as an HR expert as required
- Lead development sessions around HR processes and employment legislation for managers, focused on improving understanding capability to support self-sufficiency.
- Develop People metrics that provide visibility on all people issues within the areas you support, ensuring that it continues to be fit for purpose and accurate.
- Develop and amend policies and procedural documents to support our people practices.
- Contribute to the monthly HR reports and people metrics.
- Develop and deliver effective training on people management issues.
- Carry out right to work checks and all pre-employment checks.
- Partner with the senior HR team to implement the specific people strategies.
- Ensure effective support across all parts of HR (talent acquisition, recruitment strategy, reward, engagement) are met and that key performance indicators are put in place and achieved.
- Drive and embed cultural change journey and engagement programmes.
- Review and analyse people data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, absence levels and conduct, employee engagement and external employer branding.
- Support high levels of ER casework as and when required.
- Hold direct management responsibility for members of the HR team.
- Any other duties as and when requested.

- Experienced as a HR Generalist with the ability to work in an agile environment
- Able to build strong stakeholder relationships quickly, gaining their trust.
- Ability to multitask, work to deadlines, prioritise under pressure and use own initiative
- Excellent team player with the ability to build effective team relationships and promote an environment of trust and flexibility
- CIPD qualified is desirable
- Proactively engage and manage diversity & inclusion initiatives
- Understanding of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues at all levels
- Problem solving and conflict resolution to manage employee relation issues
