The Embelex business unit of the Aftermarket Apparel Solutions Group will hire an HP Indigo Digital Printing Machine Operator for our Embelex Miamisburg Production Operations on 2nd shift. The primary role of the HP Indigo Machine Op is to set-up and operate the sheet fed HP Digital Printer; Prepares for preflight, color adjustments, and manufacture of all digitally printed products. Completes visual and specification quality checks on each retain and continuously monitors quality and Print conditions. Maintains Print efficiency and minimizes waste. The HP Indigo Digital Print Machine Operator will cross train to support in other operational areas as needed. The hours for this position are from 10 am to 6:30 pm, Monday thru Friday, however flexibility in hours available to work is preferred to support coverage in production
Role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Set-up and operate HP Indigo digital Printer for print jobs, ensuring proper quality and color standards are achieved throughout each run.
Coordinate with Operations to produce and prioritize jobs. When necessary, reorganize schedules to meet deadline changes and updates.
Work directly with Production Art group Project Managers & Scheduling on project and art file approvals.
Work independently, often with minimal supervision, while maintaining great communication across the production team and co-workers in other departments
Be a team player, dealing effectively, respectfully and professionally with co-workers and internal constituents at all levels, in all departments
Consistently problem-solve to ensure clients receive outstanding service, support and solutions that demonstrate an understanding of company business objectives
Be a continual learner, increasing skills and knowledge for the operation of all digital presses in our fleet.
Organize and file project files and job samples, electronically and physically.
Monitor the digital printing equipment to maintain print quality, optimize productivity and minimize waste.
Perform adjustments accurately, efficiently and according to procedure—minimizing unexpected downtime and service calls.
Manipulate color calibration to meet the client's expectation.
Set up supplies and equipment and supervise the printing press during each operation.
Produces the required quantity of products within established specifications and tolerances.
Checks finished printed products, ensuring compliance with function, quality and cosmetic specifications.
Maintains logs and records of units produced including records of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
1-3 years successful experience as an Indigo Printing Press operator, preferably a 7900, and minimum Level 2 operator certification.
Experience and a solid understanding of four-color process printing, able to make color adjustments as needed
Knowledge of digital printing process required
Knowledge of post-press finishing process, i.e. cutting, binding, shrink-wrapping, shipping required
Requires near visual acuity
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks
Detail oriented and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Intermediate computer skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Sense of urgency in relation to meeting production goals
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
