JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for junior translators who are fluent in both English and Hindi. The primary responsibility of this role is to translate content between English and Hindi, ensuring the original meaning is conveyed in a clear and understandable manner for the targeted audience. Translators should maintain the integrity and purpose of the content, without altering, adding, or omitting details, unless for localization purposes. The content will include help articles, UI, legal, and marketing materials. A technical background and experience with technical localization are advantageous. The role also requires familiarity with CAT tools and other localization services. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude are desirable.
The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership for this role:
MAIN DUTIES
- Perform translations (EN - HI) in one or more translation tools.
- Translate various types of content, e.g. marketing, help, UI, or regulated content.
- Support the team with copy-edit tasks on selected content types.
- Master the standard CAT tools and tools associated with translation work for internal clients (e.g. tools for creating queries or checking the live UI elements).
- Precisely follow the established translation process, e.g. always raise queries when there is a need to.
- Precisely follow the style guide and overall client requirements.
- Improve based on the corrections made by senior team members as well as the client reviewers.
- Keep track of personal error statistics and work on the weak spots.
- Take part in the internal training and the ones organized by the client.
- Participate in the error arbitration process.
- Meet the productivity KPIs.
- Take part in the internal quality meetings and the quality calls organized by the client for the whole team.
- Constantly analyze your own gaps and think of what assistance the senior members can provide to help addressing them.
REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Translation/Applied Languages
- 6 months of experience in translation
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- Passionate about the Hindi language.
- Excellent Hindi written skills.
- Ability to comprehend English to understand the meaning and use linguistic skills to translate as per client requirements.
- Familiarity with CAT tools and other localization services.
- Technical background and experience in technical localization (preferred).
- Strong communication skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Team player.
- Open to feedback.
