ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
 

The Health Navigator position provides health related case management to all newly arriving refugees and other eligible immigrants who are resettled by World Relief Quad Cities in Rock Island County, IL; Scott County, IA; and Des Moines County, IA. The Health Navigator is a member of the Resettlement Team and serves as an extra support to ensure health access to those resettled by WRQC.  

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 5/31/25 and contingent upon funding extension.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete health care needs assessment for newly arriving refugees   
  • Schedule and coordinate initial refugee health screenings with local healthcare organizations within 90-days after arrival and follow up on referrals or treatment needs 
  •  Complete initial health screening paperwork for all newly arriving refugees to the Quad Cities   
  • Serve as a liaison between World Relief Quad Cities and local healthcare organizations providing refugee health screenings   
  • Coordinate transportation to/from health screening days and follow ups such as bloodwork, vaccinations, and chest x-rays; provide transportation when needed 
  •  Case note all refugee health screenings and relevant healthcare services in Dynamics 
  •  Participate on calls with the IL and IA Refugee Health Coordinators   
  • Support statewide refugee wellness and health improvement efforts 
  •  Provide referrals to internal and external services as appropriate    Interpret as needed   
  • Other duties as assigned 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English language   
  • Strong administrative and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office   
  • Excellent time management abilities and ability to work independently   
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills 
  •  Advanced cross-cultural fluency, with ability to collaborate effectively with team members of other cultural, linguistic, or religious backgrounds
