Engineers build the bank: Our Engineering competence strives for technical excellence, efficiency and a state-of-the-art experience for our customers. We believe in using the best tools for the task at hand with an eye into the future and working together to democratise wealth. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Accountable for ensuring engineering and security standards are followed
  • Oversees technical and system solutions from design to implementation to operation
  • Contributes to department and company architecture
  • Thinks scalability first, in a constructive fashion - understanding the balance of creating features that can launch fast and hyperscale
  • Creates the north star to aim for in technical excellence within the element or on company level
  • Participates in continuously improving the engineering practice, always with Trade Republic as a whole in mind
  • Guides architecture decisions within the department, offering options and tradeoffs.
  • Implements best engineering practices and processes for the department
  • Acts as the technical leader, supporting Product Owner when they are breaking down problems and estimating efforts
  • Contributes as an architect on a department level.
  • Mentors colleagues during code reviews and architectural decisions
  • Addresses technical problems, recognizes risks, and resolves issues
  • Gives direct feedback in code reviews, architecture reviews and other opportunities for the team to grow

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  • You have at least 5 years experience as a Head of Technology or a similar leadership role within a startup or rapidly growing company preferably in Fintech or Banking
  • You have deep understanding of software development and Backend Engineering 
  • Your have strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide technical teams 
  • You have a track record of solving complex technical challenges and make decisions that drive innovation 
  • You have experience working with C level leadership
