Head of Technical - Menswear

1. Introduce new processes and pioneering/industry leading technologies to support continuous improvement in quality, speed to market and product innovation.

2. Regularly write, renew, and update the ASOS technical manual to deliver marketing leading and easy to follow product manufacturing guidelines and proactive processes within supplier base.

3. Together with offshore production and QA teams organise supplier Training roadshow to embed successfully ASOS quality and technical standards

4. Develop and lead a global high-performance team, with skills sets and commitment to meet or exceed required business results.

5. Deliver an optimised E2E product development, sealing and fitting processes across all departments to ensure quality is built at the early development stage

6. Build and operationalise new capabilities within 3D virtual fitting process to progress fit accuracy, speed, and product quality within category supplier base

7. Act as the opinion leader and subject matter expert for product quality defining, embedding technical metrics and governance, including product performance and construction standards

8. Lead departmental Initiatives and ad hoc projects to deliver fit consistency across product type, speed to market and cost savings.

9. Establish a product management compliance strategy to secure adherence of all our product to ASOS quality, legal and safety standards, re enforce customer trust and confidence in the product and brand

10. Lead product technical and digital teams including product creation capability areas, to ensure we are mitigating product risk assessment at early stage, acting as centre of excellence for fit and blocks

Skills and experience you will need  

  • Proven experience and knowledge of working with UK and Off shore (retailers, Suppliers or Manufacturers) on Product Technical & Quality standards 

  • Excellent product technical knowledge gained in UK & off shore retail/manufacturing environment covering all areas from testing, construction, fitting, sealing, production and supply chain management.   

  • Strong knowledge of product testing both technical & legal standards 

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and objectively. 

  • Proven Supply chain management experience in all business manufacturing zones 

  • Excellent Leadership skills 

  • Proven strong work ethic with utmost integrity 

  • Proven record in delivering successfully Quality Management systems in both Head office and manufacturing units  

  • Effective problem solver and proactive. 

  • Strong  knowledge of product Standard Minute Values
