The role

We’re looking for a Head of Business Development to lead the team responsible for bringing in net new business at Legatics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and commercial growth strategies. Reporting directly to our Chief Commercial Officer and working closely with other commercial teams, the Head of Business Development will have a crucial role in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, leading and shaping a high-performing sales team.

The Head of Business Development will be comfortable developing sales strategies that appeal to problems law firms are trying to solve while also raising product awareness. 

What you will be doing: 

  • Plan and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue goals, drive business growth.
  • Execute the go-to-market plan by:
    • Identifying key market segments and opportunities.
    • Owning different customer profiles and definitions.
  • Develop a sales engine by:
    • Implementing processes for repeatable and scalable new business development.
    • Regularly testing activity with a view to continually nurture  the sales funnel.
    • Reviewing lead qualification criteria and processes to prioritise efforts on high-potential prospects and opportunities.
  • Drive sales operations with the support of the Junior RevOps Manager and use data to build upon our existing metrics to benchmark the team’s success and to guide decisions for future growth.
  • Annually evaluate and refine the commission structure and targets based on feedback, market trends, and competitive benchmarks to incentivise desired behaviours and drive revenue growth.
  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline management and report progress through Salesforce.
  • Work closely with the VP US Business Development to drive our expansion into the US market.
  • Lead the sales team, providing guidance, mentorship and strategic direction to drive revenue growth and exceed their targets. 
  • Promote a culture of agility whilst taking into account the impact of accelerated execution on customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term relationships.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Work cross functionally with Product, Marketing and Customer teams to meet the needs of prospective customers and to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders within target accounts.
  • Attend LegalTech conferences and marketing events to represent the company, make industry connections and to stay up to date on industry trends.
  • Occasional travel will be required (domestic and international)

Requirements

What we need from you:

  • Minimum of 8 years of sales experience, including at least 3 years in a sales leadership role.
  • Prior experience working in a B2B Enterprise SaaS startup / scaleup.
  • Legal experience prior to your sales career OR legal selling experience
  • Proven experience in a sales leadership role managing and closing long complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers. 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales data analysis and performance metrics. 
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models, industry trends and competitive landscapes.
  • Experience using Hubspot, Salesforce & Outreach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Results oriented mindset with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • An interest in legal technology and its potential to transform the way lawyers work.
