Head of Procurement / Senior Procurement Manager

Role: Head of Procurement / Senior Procurement Manager

Location: Hybrid / London, England (onsite x2 days per week)

 

ROLE MISSION

Reporting to our Group Procurement Director, this role is responsible for driving a seamless procurement lifecycle through buying goods and services for our group of companies, globally. From identifying needs and developing specifications, to negotiating cost effective contracts, managing key suppliers, and ensuring service delivery exceeds business goals and objectives.  

Working closely with our Group Procurement Director to create and deliver spend synergies and opportunities, the successful candidate will be able to think strategically, can build brilliant stakeholder relationships naturally, and has a genuine passion for spend and contract data analysis.  

Key categories of spend in scope will be the management of Technology (including but not limited to software/SaaS/hardware) consultancy services, HR services and production services.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • To develop an opportunity pipeline to deliver short, mid, and long-term value adding initiatives.
  • Create and implement effective procurement supplier strategies that align with the organisation’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Proactively leveraging data insights, benchmarks and metrics to innovate and drive both new and ongoing cost saving opportunities, aligned to business growth ambitions.
  • Adapting and championing best practice processes for sourcing products and services across the group.
  • Positively influencing our Sustainability and DEI objectives with our suppliers to help drive our goal to be Cabon net zero by 2030.
  • Mitigate commercial and reputational risk through robust contract management.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships across key departments ensuring strategic alignment between procurement and business objectives.
  • Working collaboratively with key IIG delivery leads to ensure the sourcing process is clearly communicated, understood, and adhered to effectively.
  • Engage with other business functions to solidify the sourcing process (including Legal, Finance, Sustainability & Compliance teams).  

 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a procurement / contract / commercial role. 
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing principles and best practices. 
  • Experience of IT/Technology spend categories is advantageous.  
  • Adapts and thrives working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • A self-starter, with strong leadership and demonstrable experience at being able to influence at a senior level. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including experience of negotiating high-value contracts. 
  • A strong understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk. 
  • Resilience and a proactive problem-solving mindset is key.  
  • Analytical and able to interpret data quickly, strong Excel skills are required.
