Gopuff is seeking a  Head of Private Label for its private label business—a critical General Manager function that requires entrepreneurial vision and leadership. This role will be the driving force behind building innovative, customer-centric private label brands that not only deliver value but also stand out as industry leaders in quality, creativity, and coolness factor.

The scope of ownership is expansive, starting with shaping the category and assortment strategy, INNOVATING, crafting pricing strategies, and driving sourcing and product launches. This role demands a brand-building mindset and a passion for innovation, with the goal of creating products that inspire loyalty, differentiate Gopuff in the marketplace, and redefine what private label can achieve.

The role will lead a highly collaborative, cross-functional effort spanning teams across merchandising, supply chain, product quality and safety, legal, marketing, and creative. By fostering creativity and pushing boundaries, this individual  will play a pivotal role in transforming private label into a key draw for customers, not just a value play.

Reporting directly to the VP of Merchandising, this individual will be instrumental in shaping the strategic vision and success of Gopuff’s private label business. This is an opportunity for a dynamic leader to take ownership, innovate boldly, and build brands that resonate with customers and redefine the future of private label.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an innovative assortment strategy informed by internal and third-party data, customer insights, and competitive benchmarking, with a focus on building differentiated private label brands.
  • Own the Private Label P&L, driving top- and bottom-line performance and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales growth, profitability, and market share.
  • Identify, vet, and engage co-manufacturer partners for private label development, ensuring alignment with brand vision, quality standards, and innovation goals.
  • Lead negotiations with co-manufacturer partners, including cost of goods, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and shipment and ordering requirements, to drive value and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the project leader, managing cross-functional teams and guiding product development through each stage-gate process to ensure on-time, high-quality launches.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including merchandising, supply chain, marketing, legal, and creative teams, to ensure organizational alignment and readiness for successful product launches.
  • Drive creativity and innovation, ensuring each private label product elevates Gopuff’s brand portfolio and sets new benchmarks in quality, appeal, and customer engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in Private Label Sourcing and/or CPG brand development is required, with a proven track record of creating and launching innovative, customer-focused products.
  • 10+ years of experience in retail, private label, CPG product development, and sourcing, with demonstrated success in P&L ownership and delivering against KPIs.
  • Deep knowledge of the private label industry, including a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and the strategic role of private label in driving differentiation and customer loyalty.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with peers across departments to drive the end-to-end sourcing and product development process.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter attitude, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across diverse teams, fostering alignment and collaboration to achieve shared goals.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20-25% as needed to support sourcing, product development, and partnership engagements.
