The Digital Catapult People Team are searching for a Head of People Operations and Business Partnering to join the team.
Reporting to the CPO, you will provide additional leadership and operational management within the People Team as we continue to scale and grow. We are going through a period of rapid change as we implement a refreshed business strategy. The ability to lead and manage through this exciting period and to deal with ambiguity and work with agility will be critical.
This is a hands-on role. You will hold responsibility for all people-based activities within the organisation from an operational and business partnering perspective and will contribute your insights and experience to future strategic planning for our ambitious and dynamic People function. Responsibilities also include defining and upholding People policy and process and ensuring a positive, success-focused, collaborative and inclusive culture continues to thrive. You will lead a team of 4-5 people across the London and Belfast offices.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure ongoing legal compliance with changing legislation and to attract, motivate and retain a diverse and high performing team.
- Continuously work to improve the full “employee experience” from onboarding (ensuring all employees are well-integrated into the organisation) to offboarding.
- Lead, inspire, coach, and develop People team members, ensuring high levels of performance, cross-training and resilience.
- Work with the Learning & Development team to ensure that career development, training and/or performance management activities are followed through on.
- Responsible for the professional management of employee relations matters and for coaching other team members on how to manage them with positive and successful outcomes.
- Lead the professional operation of payroll administration, compensation and benefits management.
- Lead on People Management Reporting aspects: Provide insights and reporting on People data and analytics.
Requirements
- A great track record of leading a People/ Human Resources operations team in a fast-paced environment and working across the full employee life-cycle to deliver a positive and engaging employee experience.
- Deep and current knowledge of UK employment law with the skills to deliver this specialist advice and guidance.
- A coaching and inspiring approach: shares knowledge, is open to change and working in new ways; comfortable working with people with diverse styles; effective conflict management and resolution skills.
- Open, enthusiastic and engaging communicator – excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail. Experienced in delivering company-wide presentations.
- A combination of experience from smaller as well as larger companies is preferred since Digital Catapult is a maturing company.
- Previous experience / skills within Business intelligence (in order to make recommendations for business improvements) and supplier management.
- A formal HR qualification is highly desirable, but as important is a strong track record of a successful career in HR/ People operations.
