Head of Logistics Hardware Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a product roadmap for the logistics robotics, aligned with Telexistence's overall objectives. Take responsibilities in end-to-end hardware development, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, timeline and business goals. 
• Layout hardware development timeline and goals based on business plan and deadlines, work with cross-functional engineering teams to follow through on execution.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineering and business operations to ensure seamless integration of our products with clients’ day-to-day operations. 
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a lean engineering team, including technical leads and specialists, fostering a culture of speed and accountability.


• Telexistenceの全体のビジネスゴールに沿った物流ロボットのハードウェアロードマップを策定し、実行する。
• ハードウェア開発全般の実行と進捗管理の責任を担い、顧客要件、タイムライン、ビジネスゴールとの整合性を確保する。
• ビジネスプランと納期に基づいて製品開発のタイムラインと目標を設定し、部門横断的なエンジニアリングチームと協力して実行に移す。
• ソフトウェアエンジニアリング、ビジネスオペレーションを含む部門横断的なチームと密接に協力し、顧客の日常業務と当社製品のシームレスな統合を実現する。
• テクニカルリードやスペシャリストを含むリーンエンジニアリングチームをリード、指導し、スピードと各ステークホルダーとの関係構築を両立する。

Requirements

• 1)Hardware Product Development: 
• Strong understanding of hardware, ideally robot manipulators and other components. Ability to lead the mechanical design by utilizing 3D CAD tools themselves.
• Experience in managing the development and timeline of hardware components.
• 2)Technical Project Management:
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully leading complex technical projects.
• Ability to manage the timeline for both hardware and software development, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• 3)Deployment and Installation:
• Knowledge of best practices for hardware installation and deployment in real-world environments.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and standards in robotics or industrial equipments to ensure compliance during installation.
• 4)Team Leadership:
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers and developers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Preferred Skills

• 1)Insight to Software Development:
• Knowledge of  software development for hardware products, including programming languages commonly used in robotics like C++, Python, or ROS.
• Experience in managing the development timeline for tablet applications.
• Proficiency in server-side development to support the tablet app and ensure seamless communication between the app and the hardware.
• 2)Customer Requirements Management:
• Communication skills and the ability to manage customer expectations effectively.
• A proactive approach to addressing customer issues and improving the product based on user feedback.
• 3)Vision and Passion for Robotics:
• A passion for innovation and the ability to drive the development of new features or improvements to the product.
