Head of Finance, Dangote Cement Transport

The Head of Finance for Dangote Cement Transport is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the Transport division of Dangote Cement. This leadership position will involve strategic financial management, policy development, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while supporting the growth objectives of the transport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies that align with the overall business goals of Dangote Cement Transport.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Manage the accounting and financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards, including IFRS and local legislation.
  • Analyze financial performance and present insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
  • Support investment analysis and assess financial implications of operational decisions.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve financial operations and efficiencies.
  • Oversee cash flow management and optimize working capital.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to build capacity and promote professional growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments for effective resource allocation and cost management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees (MBA or Master’s in Finance) or professional certifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role, ideally within logistics or transport-related industries.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and reporting standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards in financial reporting.
